I'm in my last week of Insanity Max:30! It's kind of bittersweet. I'm excited to graduate and start a new program, but I will miss it. I will absolutely repeat it in the. Also, know that I started the meal plan ahead of time so that the last day (the high carb day) could fall in my mom's bday. So instead of starting after completing round 2, I started it during the last few days of month 2.
Insanity MAX 30 7 AB Mazimizer Results
The questions I sought to answer by doing the 7 Day Ab Mazimizer were, 'does it work?' 'What about the Extreme Results option for the last day?'If it does, would it be worth it at the end?'Does it work?
Yes, if you switch the meal plan from the regular Max 30 nutrition guide to the Ab Mazimizer you will see a change in body fat and you might even lose a few pounds & inches. My waist was about 31 inches and I ended up with a 29 & 3/4 waist which is something new to me.
However! Because of the low carbs you will notice a dip in energy levels during the day and especially during your workouts. I didn't feel this lack of energy during the first few days but I did feel them during the last few. Completing MAX OUT 15 felt very difficult during day 7.
Extreme Results
There is an option to do the 'Extreme Results' for day 7 in which you stop drinking water and only consume a carb portion for each meal. I actually did this during day 8 just to try it out. The guide says that the idea with this is to have your muscles suck up the carbs and get your muscles closer to the skin giving you a more 'ripped' look. I decided to do it so that I wouldn't regret not doing it later, and I can honestly say that I think it's unnecessary. I think that you will be happy with your results if you just follow the days 1 through 7 without doing the last day as 'extreme results.'
No water just seemed stupid for me, especially considering that I not trying to compete. lol And I understand that the plan has us drinking over a gallon during days 3-6 but that was still not enough for me and I had to drink water.
Was it worth it at the end?
I think it works and it is a great plan to have if you have a photoshoot or a special even coming up, or a beach day, but if you are going to do the 7 Day Ab Mazimizer I would just follow the meal plan all the way until day 7 and skip the extreme results day. I honestly think that you don't need it. And as far as my results, I lost weight, inches, and body fat but I felt tired. It was cool seeing more definition in my body but I was also looking somewhat skinny at times.

So far so good! I've seen my body de-bloat quite well and I've actually have felt really good even though I'm eating less carbs. I'm also being very discipline with my meal times and my portions. I have 5 alarms.

Sweets! I as embarrassing as it is for me to admit, I failed today but it's important to me to keep it real with all you and to share both my wins and my mistakes. Today started out well. I ate my great breakfast, then workout and had a post workout shake using egg whites, 1/2 banana, 2 tbsp of ovaltine, and some almond milk.
For meal 3 I went with the family to eat at a restaurant for Mother's Day. I ate half a whole chicken with some potato slices, and two servings of veggies (green beans & carrots). So far so good right? Here is where I made the mistakes, they had these chocolate mints that on their own didn't account for much but I had like 6! Then when we came back home, everyone was having these pumpkin brownies that my sister made like 4 days ago and I finally decided to have some. I had two brownies (they were about 1.5 inches tall and about the same in width). Then I let that become an excuse and I tried some of the mother's day cake we had. Again, not a huge amount BUT it keeps adding up.
Now it's very easy for me to look at today as a total failure and get negative and let it ruin my day or my momentum for the week. But this time I'm going to look at it from a different perspective. First, I have eaten pretty well in the last few days and I AM GOING TO CONTINUE TO EAT WELL THE REST OF THE WEEK. I AM IN CONTROL. Secondly, I've been doing a lot of personal development on the subject of failure and instead of just counting this as a failure, I am going to fail forwards and learn something from this experience.
Here is what I learned from today:
- 'To err is to be human.' I watched 'El Dorado' with mom after eating the sweets LOL
- After eating the sweets I felt as if I was still not satisfied. I certainly knew that I should have stopped eating because I had spent my calories on the sweets but my body felt as if I had not fed it properly. I felt as if I was lacking proteins and vegetables which was what led me to eat the two pasteles. I don't know, all I know is that it was almost as if my body recognized the sweets as just empty calories and it still was waiting for the right nutrients. Two pasteles wasn't the best option but I really didn't have any thing else available.

This is that optional day that the plan allows you to use for day 7. As you have seen, I did day 7 like the other previous days so I decided to add in a bonus day using the high carb approach.This day I had 2 cups of fruits, 1 for meal 1 and another for meal 2. Then meal 3-5 were each 1/2 cup of brown rice. I also sipped a bit of water and had 1/2 cup of sweet potatoes after my workout in addition to my 5 meals.
